Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol
Texas Wing Senior Members,

In Texas Wing IT, we have been behind the scenes planning a rollout of Microsoft Office 365 for the entire wing membership (only senior members) and are now ready now to begin rolling this out.

BACKGROUND:

For several years, Texas Wing has maintained a Google G Suite environment that has primarily been used for wing staff-level communication and collaboration.  As cloud-based services have matured, we have made the decision to transition to Microsoft Office 365 in parallel with a domain migration from @txwgcap.org to @txwg.cap.gov, as well as make this available to the entire Texas Wing senior membership to further develop communication and collaboration within the wing.

BENEFITS:

Leveraging Microsoft Office 365 across the wing will provide much more than just email.  The Office 365 service provides several integrated applications and services that we can benefit to provide better communication and collaboration opportunities within the wing.  This includes: Email, Calendar, Cloud-based storage, a Teaming hub, Online meetings, and more.

More details on the specific services available can be found at:

QUESTIONS:

A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document has been published on the Texas Wing website, IT section with more details.  Please review this document at https://www.txwgcap.org/documents/2020/04/faq-texas-wing-migration-to-office-365.pdf.

ACTION:

As we roll this out in a staged manner, please look for an email directly from the Texas Wing IT team with instructions to access your new account.

If you have any questions or concerns, please submit a request to the Texas Wing IT team at it-requests@txwg.cap.gov.
